The coach was replaced by the Stanley Cup winning guard

Calgary Flames, who won the Stanley Cup in 1989 at the North American Professional Hockey League (NHL), drove head coach Geoff Ward and appointed Darryl Sutter to replace him.

The Canadian band’s bosses broke away from Ward, who had been in control of the team since November 2019, just after a 7-3 victory against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.

The coach was the head coach in charge of the guard last season, who was eliminated in August in the first round of the playoffs, scoring 24 points in 24 games in the current competition and finishing fifth in the group of seven Canadian teams.

Ward's successor is a "big name" in the industry, winning the Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012 and 2014, and has a strong commitment to the Flames as the team's head coach from 2002 to 2006 and the general manager from 2003 to 2010. he was also the director of the club. Under his leadership, Calgary reached the grand final in 2004, which it has not been able to do since.
