The U.S. men’s basketball team, which is preparing for the Tokyo Olympics, also lost its second friendly match, this time out of the Australian team to 91-83 in Las Vegas.
The guard, crammed with NBA stars, was defeated by Nigerians on Saturday, and the current failure is special because it has fallen below two consecutive clashes for the third time since 1992, the best time since the best North American profile made up the national team.
In 2002, the band, formerly known as the Dream Team, won the World Championships from Yugoslavia and Spain, and in 2019 from France and Serbia.
Australian best was flag bearer Patty Mills at the opening ceremony with 22 points, while American Damian Lillard also scored 22 points.
