Tour de France - The trophy of the winning Geraint Thomas was stolen
They have stolen the British Geraint Thomas trophy, which was awarded this year's Tour de France to win the cycling tour.
Sky's Wednesday announces that the cup was borrowed from the Pinarello bicycle factory, which, along with several other trophies, exhibited at a show in Birmingham, but disappeared after being unattended.
"It is extremely unfortunate what happened. Anyone took it for granted that it has little value for me and for the team," he said, adding that the thief would hopefully see it all and return the cup. "The trophy is important, but the most important are the wonderful memories of this incredible summer. No one can take it".
Richard Hemington, Managing Director of Pinarello, said he was taking full responsibility for the case and personally apologizing to Gerain Thomas.
The police launched an investigation into the case and began hearing the witnesses. Thomas won the sixth Tour de France title of the Sky team on July 7th.
