Kubica will return to Formula One next year - press release

According to Wednesday's motorsrpot.com portal, Robert Kubica, who has not been in the elite class since February 2011, will return to Formula One in Williams.

The stall allegedly has already entered into an agreement with a 33-year-old rider whose return will be announced on Thursday at the seasonal Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Kubica, who was born in Krakow, was introduced to F1 in 2006 and started 76 races by the end of 2010, 12 times on the podium, and one victory at the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix. The Polish driver was already racing at Renault in 2010 and started the 2011 season, but in February an Italian rally was injured and his right hand was seriously injured. He had been in hospital for eleven weeks, then started racing again after his recovery: he started rally-vb between 2013 and 2016, and in the meantime tested Formula E and GP3 cars.

Kubica has been testing Formula One racing cars several times last year, and this year was Williams' test and reserve pilot.
