The All England Club, home of the Wimbledon Tennis Championship, will soon be expanding.
The members of the Wimbledon Park Golf Club, adjacent to the complex, voted on Thursday for all members to receive an equal share of the approximately 65 million (HUF 24 billion) purchase price.
As 75 percent of the membership supported the motion, it is expected that the sale will be decided by the end of this year.
The area will be out of the golf club in 2041, and the All England Club would have ownership over it, but now this process could accelerate and use it from 2021 onwards.
The organizers of the tournament would like to create additional tracks in the area to be purchased, so that the tournament qualifiers do not have to be played in Roehampton, five kilometers away.
