The organizers of the Hungarian round announced on Wednesday that the Belgian Alpecin-Fenix team will start, and according to the current press reports, Van der Poel, the biggest star of the guard, will be postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic, from August 29 to September 2. in the field to be avoided. The Tour de Hongrie starts one day with the Tour de France, for which Alpecin-Fenix did not receive a free card.
The 25-year-old Dutch biker won the Dübendorf ATV bike championship in early February, becoming European champion in mountain biking last year, while winning a silver medal in the road race in 2018 at the continental race.
So far, eight teams are sure to start in the Hungarian round, so the Dutch Jumbo-Visma and the American Trek-Segafredo are among the best World Tour teams, as well as the participation of the WT-rated, ie procontinental Italian Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec.
On the 41st Tour de Hongrie, 120 riders from 20 teams are scheduled to start. The organizers aim to meet one of the important criteria for entering a series called the Pro Series, for which at least fourteen World Tour and procontinental bands must start.
