Károly Eisenkrammer told M4 Sport Sporthíradó on Wednesday: although the flag for the competition category jump will be from 2022, he would like the Hungarian road cycling race to be part of the Pro Series next year.
To do this, you must meet communication, sports and criteria that also determine the number and quality of teams. The latter, for example, requires 11 rows of participants from the two highest categories of cycling, with a total of 13 such stables taking part in the Tour de Hongrie until Wednesday: five of the world-elite World Tour teams and eight of the sub-WT-rated, ie procontinental, stables. then he will start in the five-stage Hungarian circuit with a total distance of 826 kilometers.
As he said, after the postponement of the battle in the spring, they considered the fall date as a Plan B, they just wanted to organize it correctly.
"Compared to that, we are there to organize the biggest cycling race ever in Hungary." he stressed.
The main organizer emphasized that a few years ago he would not have thought that such a professional field would arrive, and even in this Hungarian bikers would start with such chances, among whom he highlighted last year's second Dina Márton and third Valter Attila, the second in 2017 Barnabás Peák, and the fresh Hungarian champion Viktor Filutás.
"At home, we have no idea what interest the Hungarian circuit will be abroad," he said, adding that Eurosport will have a summary of the Tour de Hongrie by M4 Sport and m4sport before or after the Tour de France broadcasts, which also start on Saturday. live broadcast sitemgr.
The main organizer emphasized that he is waiting for an accident-free and smooth race and is confident in a Hungarian podium finish.
Károly Eisenkrammer explained: road cycling is a special sport, on long sections hundreds can be present along the roads without the risk of viruses.
"We are in a rather difficult period when it was not possible to appear at sporting events, this competition is an exception, a celebration of sport. You are encouraging everyone to come and support the field, the bikers," he said. He stressed, however, that everyone is being asked to wear a mask to show viewers that "we take care of each other." As he said, the competitors will have to wear masks everywhere, they will be treated by the organizers in a bubble, so the teams will be separated from each other in the accommodation and they will not even be able to eat together. Outside the race track, it will not be possible to meet cyclists this year due to the epidemic situation, so the previously usual opportunities, signatures that can be collected at the start or finish areas or joint photos will be missed.
The first teams will arrive on Wednesday, and after the team presentation on Friday night, the 41st Tour de Hongrie will start on Saturday in Esztergom, with 120 competitors from 20 teams in the 2.1 category of the International Federation (UCI).
