The world’s oldest marathon, the Boston Marathon, is scheduled to take place on October 11 this year.
Organizers announced the date on Tuesday after they had to cancel the race last year - for the first time since 1897 - because of the coronavirus epidemic. At the same time, it was indicated that there is still a lot of uncertainty, and a ban on street racing in the state will have to be lifted by then.
It is also questionable how big a field will be able to start. Normally, 30,000 runners used to start the 42,195-kilometer classic run.
The Boston Marathon is traditionally held in April each year.
