Defending defender Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright won the Darts World Cup.
The 49-year-old Scottish beat his Dutch opponent 7-3 in the traditional January 1 final at the Alexandra Palace in London, making him the first ever world champion.
They both played in the 2014 finals, but then van Gerwen won 7-4 and then twice in 2017 and 2019.
The three-time World Cup winner, thirty-year-old Dutchman, was not outstanding this time, missed more chances - often making mistakes in the outings - and Wright, who received £ 500,000 (£ 193.9 million) for his first chance.
