Fanny Smith will receive a bronze medal in the number of ski robes for women - nine days after the Swiss rider was eliminated in the final at the Beijing Winter Olympics.
At the Pyongyang Games, the third Smith battled for bronze with German Daniela Maier, clashed, and finally, after a long videotaping, the Swiss were eliminated. The decision was not understood by the competitors either, as it seemed to be a race accident rather than an irregularity.
The International Federation (FIS) announced on Saturday that the Appeals Committee had met four times, reviewed the video and written evidence, and finally decided the situation was neither intentional nor unavoidable.
The number was won by Swedish world champion Sandra Naeslund with a start-finish victory, the silver medal was won by Sochi champion Marielle Thompson of Canada, while the bronze was taken over by Maier.
