Zlatan Ibrahimovic would play for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in the Swedish national team at the age of 41, as he does not want to end his career without scoring a goal at the World Cup.
AC Milan’s 39-year-old striker returns to the national team after almost five years, from which he retired after the 2016 European Championships. One week ago, Federal Captain Janne Andersson unveiled the 26-member list of the national team preparing for the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Kosovo and a friendly match against the Estonians.
It is home to the most successful Swedish footballer of all time, scoring 62 goals in 116 matches for the national team. However, he has not yet found a World Cup, which he attended in 2002 and 2006.
"It's something I want to change. I just can't stay at zero," Ibrahimovic said with a smile.
"Looking too far is dangerous, I have to focus on the next day. However, based on how I feel today, I'll be there. If you ask me, I'm the best in the world," he added.
