Due to the coronavirus epidemic, Manchester United came up with a form-breaking idea. The club is setting up stands in its stadium, for which it has also received permission. All this means that the leadership of the "red devils" will thus be able to set up a section in Old Trafford to accommodate 1,500 of its fans.
The BBC reports that this facility will be in the north-east and will be available from the 2020/21 season. If the stand-up sector, taking into account the necessary safety measures, such as handrails and metal chairs, can be tested, it may be similar in other areas of the stadium in the future.
With a capacity of 75,000 spectators, Old Trafford, the largest stadium in English club football, Manchester United, has been struggling for years to make it stand still.
In the English First and Second Classes, standing supporters were banned as a result of the 1989 Hillsborough tragedy, which claimed 96 lives. However, due to pressure from clubs, safe parking areas were designed with the involvement of experts, which, like MU, had previously been licensed by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
