Defending champions Liverpool beat Tottenham, the top leader in the English Premier League in the 13th round, with a last-minute goal at home.
The host played a great advantage in the first half, this was a 26-minute goal for Liverpool with a bouncing shot from Mohamed Szalah. The defending champion continued in the jump as well, but seven minutes later Tottenham equalized with Son Hung Min's goal. The superiority of Jürgen Klopp is well illustrated by the fact that Tottenham achieved only 75 successful passes in the first half.
After the turn, the image of the match changed significantly: at the beginning of the second half, Steven Bergwijn immediately put the guests in the streak, and then Harry Kane was endangered several times. Bergwijn made another mistake in the 63rd minute: the Dutch football's shot hit the post. Liverpool gathered themselves for the final twenty minutes, and although Sadio Mané's attempt at the top bar still saved the guests, with a header from Roberto Firmino in the 90th minute, the home side could rejoice in the three points.
The defending champion thus retained his perfect home balance and also won his seventh match on Anfield Road. Tottenham suffered their first away defeat in the 2020/2021 season.
