The leadership of Italian champion Juventus may be forced to sell Cristiano Ronaldo after the crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic, as this is the only way for the Turin football club to stay afloat economically, the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero wrote.
According to the newspaper, the Portuguese star player has agreed to a reduction in his net annual salary of € 31 million, but this amount can no longer be taken over by his club after the crisis.
Ronaldo, 35, who arrived in Turin two years ago and has a contract until the summer of 2022, the newspaper says the club could pass for at least € 70 million, and if the five-time goldball striker remains, he will have to go into a significant long-term pay cut.
