Rossi relies on Callum Styles in front of the defense

The naturalized midfielder, who plays for Barnsley in the English second division, told M4 Sport's Sports News that he had already spoken to the national team captain and that the 5 or 6 position will be his.

"I have played quite a lot this season in my club team and I can be used in several positions, but in the national team I will mostly be in front of the defenders, in the 5 or 6 position on the left side. Of course, if I need help elsewhere, I will still try my best to offer, but the national team captain is currently counting on me in these positions," said the 21-year-old player born in Bury, England, with Hungarian ancestry.

He thought of his new teammates: "the quality of the players is good, most of them play in a strong league, and this is good for the team".

"It seems that the team is quite used to it, and the training sessions are intense and demanding. I am sure that I will improve as a player. In the national team matches that await us, we will have to play against the best teams in the world, and everyone can feel how much they are waiting, to meet such opponents," he continued.

He also talked about how he loves playing football, he has done it practically his whole life, and he considers it a great honor to have been invited to the national team.

"I know the team somewhat, I followed it closely during the summer European Championship, and when it came up that I could get Hungarian citizenship and the process started, I already tried to gather as much information as possible about the team. And since I've been here, of course I have to acclimatize to the environment , to my new teammates, to the crew members, and to the Hungarian mentality in general," said Styles, adding that he has a problem with the Hungarian language, but most of the people in the squad speak English, and what he doesn't understand in the dressing room, they translate for him.

He revealed that he gets along best with Nego Loick, who practically "took him under his wing". He added, however, that "everyone was very helpful and accommodating" and that he really likes the atmosphere that can be felt in the team.

He was impressed by the Hungarian fans he experienced at the European Championship matches, he has not been to the Puskás Arena yet, so he is looking forward to Thursday night so he can go out on the field and prove himself.

At his press conference on Wednesday, national team captain Marco Rossi stated that there will be no newcomers in the starting team, but depending on the course of the match, there may be a debut.

The Hungarian national team will play against the Serbians from 19:30, then against the Northern Irishmen in Belfast on Tuesday from 20:45. The team is preparing for the Nations League, in which they will meet the European champions Italy, the European silver medalist England, and the Germans in the group stage. However, the long-term and much more important goal is to successfully compete in the qualifying series of the 2024 European Championship in Germany. The qualification groups will be drawn on October 9.
