His agent said his words were misunderstood and world champion Paul Pogba could leave Manchester United’s football team not next winter, but only next summer.
Mino Raiola even told Italian newspaper Tuttosport last week that although the 27-year-old world champion’s French player contract runs until the summer of 2022, it would be best for both sides to part ways already this winter. The player himself has since declared his commitment to MU.
The manager has now stated that it would be difficult to organize such a "high-profile" club change in January.
“Already last week, I was talking about next summer,” Raiola now told Tuttosport. "When it comes to Pogba, they're very sensitive in England, maybe they're too sensitive. It's hard to imagine the big clubs cutting into such a transfer in January. We'll see what happens next summer."
In 2016, Pogba confirmed for a record € 105 million back from Juventus to Manchester United, where he had already played between 2009 and 2012.
