The home team took the lead in the seventh minute with Gerson Rodrigues' penalty, and the Hungarians equalized with Attila Szalai's header in the 25th minute. The newcomer András Németh, who came on as a substitute, gave the Hungarians the advantage in the 67th minute, but the match ended in a draw with the goal of Alessio Curci, who made his debut like him.
In addition to Németh, national team captain Marco Rossi inaugurated another newcomer in the person of Péter Baráth.
