Defending champions Real Madrid will meet their last season's final opponent, Liverpool, in the round of 16 of the soccer Champions League, whose program will feature another previous final, Paris Saint-Germain's match against Bayern Munich.
At the draw held on Monday at the headquarters of the European association in Nyon, it was also revealed that RB Leipzig, which also employs the three Hungarian national football players - Péter Gulácsi, Willi Orbán and Dominik Szoboszlai - will face Manchester City for a place in the top eight.
In the past five years, Real and Liverpool have played against each other twice in the BL final, and both times the Spanish team triumphed: 3-1 in 2018, and 1-0 in May this year.
Bayern and PSG played against each other in the BL final in 2020, and the Bavarian star team won 1-0.
In the draw for the round of 16, the group leaders were drawn next to the group runners-up, so that teams from the same foursomes who advanced or from the same country could not meet.
The first matches of the round of 16 will be played on February 14-15 and 21-22, the return matches will take place on March 7-8 and 14-15.
The BL final will be held in Istanbul on June 10.
