Triple with Bayern Munich, Bundesliga, Champions League and German Cup goal king Robert Lewandowski from Poland became the Footballer of the Year in Germany.
In the Kicker magazine's vote, the 32-year-old attacker took the lead in towering, collecting 376 journalistic votes, earning recognition for the first time in his career. Behind Lewandowski, two Munich teammates Thomas Müller (54 votes) and Joshua Kimmich (49) closed.
The Polish striker - who says he is very proud of the recognition - is the first foreigner to receive the award since the 2015 success of Belgian Kevin de Bruyne.
The coach of the year was Hansi Flick, who took control of the Munich team during the season.
