Bayern Munich took its 23rd victory in the series at Thursday's European Super Cup match in Budapest, setting a new record for the major football leagues.
The Bavarians won 2-1 against Sevilla in the Puskás Arena in overtime and overturned Real Madrid’s 2014 top-down win of 22 consecutive victories.
"None of the participants in the five major European leagues has ever had such a series," Bayern's website said on Friday, recalling that the last non-winning match against Leipzig on 9 February was a league standings.
On the list of all first-class teams from the 2016/17 season, The New Saints FC of Wales are in the first series with 27 successes, while the 1971-72 Ajax are in second place with 26 consecutive wins.
Bayern will play their next matches in order with Hoffenheim, Dortmund and then Hertha.
