Although Patrick Mahomes signed his historic contract three weeks ago with NFL defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, he has already found his favorite investment: he bought a stake in the city’s Baseball team.
Patria Mahomes, manager of the Kansas City Chiefs, defending champion in the American Football League (NFL), became a co-owner of the Kansas City Royals in the baseball league (MLB).
“We are very proud to have become our ownership partner,” said the club’s number one leader, John Sherman, who mentioned that he himself followed, as did all of Kansas, how Mahomes became a leader in the colors of the Chiefs on and off the field.
The 24-year-old American footballer even played baseball in high school and college, and his father spent 11 years at MLB.
"I am honored to be a co-owner of the Royals. I love this city and its residents," Mahomes said.
Mahomes was voted the best of the 2018 regular season in the NFL, and this year the Super Bowlon earned that title. Three weeks ago, he signed a ten-year, $ 503 million contract extension with the Chiefs.
