LeBron James ’former teammate JR Smith has been contracted by the Los Angeles Lakers to prepare for the North American Basketball League (NBA) continuation in Orlando starting July 30th.
The California Guard, considered one of the biggest chances in the league title, needs the routine, 33-year-old Smith, because Avery Bradley didn’t take on the game for the rest of the season, citing family reasons.
Smith was a teammate of the Lakers ’biggest star, LeBron James, for four years in the Cleveland Cavaliers, with which they once won a championship and reached the finals four times in a row.
Renowned primarily for his excellent defense and three-point score, the routine pitcher was voted the sixth best man in the league in 2013 and the fourth-most-sold-out basketball player in NBA grand final history. Nonetheless, the big question is what condition he is in: he hasn’t played in the league since November 2018 because the Cavaliers put him out of his frame.
The NBA season continues at Disney World in Orlando on July 30, with 22 bands already in play or potentially bidding. The modified regular season runs until August 14, with eight meetings for each band. The playoffs start on August 17th and the grand final begins on September 30th.
