A collector paid $ 57,068 ($ 16.8 million) for a photocopy of the first contract of North American basketball league (NBA) superstar Michael Jordan.
According to news reports from the insidethegames.biz portal, the special feature of the relic sold at auction is that it is not an original document, but it has not been made available to the public so far.
The legendary player signed his first contract with the Chicago Bulls on September 14, 1984, with a 24-point contract to strengthen the team for at least seven years, but does not mention his salary, which is included in a separate document.
At the same auction, someone bought six-time NBA champion Jordan's signed Nike shoes for $ 379,757 ($ 112 million), which he wore in the 1985-1986 season.
Underlying the staggering sums is the relics of one of the best basketball players of all time since the Jordan documentary series The Last Dance aired on Netflix this spring.
